The three former directors of CBRE’s Texas retail investment sales group join Minneapolis-based Northmarq as managing directors and members of the national shopping center group.

The team has collectively completed more than 1,300 retail transactions totaling over $9B. Berry and Kilcrease ranked Nos. 5 and 6, respectively, on the Houston Business Journal’s list of top Houston retail brokers this year, each reporting sale volumes of more than $130M in 2025.

"Matt, Robbie and Drew have built one of the most respected retail investment sales teams in Texas,” Jeff Cox, executive managing director of commercial investment sales at Northmarq, said in a statement. “Their addition significantly strengthens our national retail investment sales platform and expands our ability to serve clients across Texas and key retail markets nationwide.”

Berry said in a statement the team saw opportunity in Northmarq’s entrepreneurial culture, collaborative approach and national retail platform. The three plan to contribute to Northmarq’s growth while expanding the resources, relationships and reach available to investors across Texas and beyond.

“This is an exciting new chapter for our team,” Berry said.

Berry has been involved with over 500 retail investment sales totaling more than $4B, with clients including institutional investors, developers, corporations and private owners. He was a senior vice president at CBRE and spent more than five years at HFF, now JLL, before that.

Kilcrease, who has also been involved in more than 500 retail transactions, totaling over $3B, began his career at HFF and was also a senior vice president at CBRE.

Reinking spent eight years as a senior vice president at CBRE. Before that, he was a partner at a boutique wealth management firm, advising clients on tax and estate planning strategies. He has been involved with more than 300 retail transactions totaling $2B.

Earlier this summer, a Houston office tenant representation team moved from Cushman & Wakefield to Stream Realty Partners, where they work alongside Lucian Bukowski, who joined Stream in 2025 after being fired from CBRE. Bukowski sued CBRE over the firing but dropped the lawsuit later that year.

CBRE named Russell Hodges as its Houston market leader in November. Hodges replaced Peter Mainguy, who moved to Partners Real Estate amid a flurry of market head shuffling in Houston.

A Houston industrial and logistics group moved from CBRE to Savills in 2024.
