China National Petroleum Corp. Opening Facility In Katy

CNPC USA Corp., a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corp., will open a technology and innovation center in Katy. The facility will be on Merchant's Way in the Ten West Crossing Business Park on Katy’s east side.

Initially, the R&D center is expected to have 20 to 25 employees with roles such as engineers, chemists, technicians, managerial and administrative positions.  The workforce is expected to be expanded in the future. Total investment for the project will be roughly $12M to $15M over the next 10 years.

Rosenberger Construction worked with CNPC USA to complete Phase 1, a 35K SF single-story building that includes 8,600 SF of office space and 19K SF of air-conditioned, crane-served manufacturing space. Brewer Construction Services is working with CNPC USA to complete Phase 2, which includes the build-out of a new 5,400 SF chemical laboratory to support fracturing/drilling, synthesis and analytics, as well as additional support space.
