Hard Rock International And Tifco Agree Deal For Temple Bar Hotel

Ireland’s first Hard Rock Hotel is to open in Dublin in 2020 on the site of the recently closed Parliament Hotel in Temple Bar.

The 120-room, four-star property on Lord Edward Street will be owned and operated by Irish hotel group Tifco under the Hard Rock brand.

The redeveloped property will comprise the Parliament building, a listed property from the early 20th century, and nearby Fashion House, which is to be demolished and rebuilt as the hotel's entrance and reception. A glass link bridge will connect the two buildings, which are separated by a laneway.

According to Tifco and Hard Rock International, the Parliament building's original red brick facade will be restored, while the inside will be “completely reimagined, creating a unique music-inspired city escape with priceless memorabilia adorning the interior of the property”. Facilities will include an all-day restaurant and a casual bar serving food.

“The hotel’s custom design based around the existing handsome early 20th century building will be unique, modern and sophisticated, offering upscale 4-star luxury with a standalone F&B proposition that we plan to put on the map,” Tifco Chief Executive Enda O’Meara said.

Tifco currently owns or manages 26 hotels and resorts in Ireland.

Hard Rock International owns, operates, licenses or manages 24 hotels worldwide, with 15 more in the pipeline. The U.K.’s first Hard Rock Hotel is scheduled to open in London in spring 2019.
