TV Watch: Travel Channel Love for Chicago Hotel

Clear your DVRs, because next Tuesday’s episode of the Travel Channel's Hotel Showdown will feature Andersonville’s The GuestHouse Hotel, 4866 N Clark St, and co-owner David Krug, DNAInfo reports. A contest where independent hotel owners review each other’s properties and compete for a $25k prize, the show is a testament to the hotel industry’s growing focus on soft branding and all things boutique. The GuestHouse will be competing against a Rockford inn and a pair of Wisconsin hotels, but its neighborhood location, condo quality finishes and amenities should swing the odds in its favor. Not to mention the inevitable boost in business after a TV spot.
