Marquette Cos. completed The Thompson at Fulton Market, a 210-unit mixed-use apartment building at 150 N. Ashland Ave., on the site of the former Mary Thompson Hospital in Fulton Market.

The building is named after Dr. Mary Thompson, Chicago’s first female doctor and the first woman known to have performed major surgery. This structure is integrated with an original five-story brick building built in the 1920s as part of the hospital and located on the south side of the property.
“The Thompson at Fulton Market is a harmonious convergence of tradition and innovation, effortlessly intertwining a bold new design with the charm of a thoughtfully preserved historic building,” Ann Reckelhoff, director of development at Marquette Cos., said in a press release.

HOK has hired new leaders in its Chicago studio, adding Rana Lee as marketing principal and Melissa Clark as a senior project manager for the firm’s sports, recreation and entertainment practice. Lee will oversee market growth and business development for the firm. Clark will focus on expanding HOK’s work in women’s professional and collegiate sports and is currently managing projects that include a football practice facility for a university and an entertainment venue for a confidential client.

Morgante Wilson Architects completed the interiors for a mall-to-apartment conversion at Lumen Fox Valley in Aurora in the project's first phase. The firm designed all common spaces and amenities, including a two-story lobby and lounge, private dining room, parlor, club room, game room, fitness and yoga studio, and pet spa. Morgante Wilson Architects also curated the finish package for all units, including selections for kitchens, baths and flooring, and designed and furnished the model unit apartments.

McHugh Construction completed the $30M adaptive reuse conversion of the Ramova Theatre from a long-shuttered single-screen cinema to an 1,800-person concert hall in Bridgeport. As part of the 36K SF project at 3510-3520 S. Halsted St., McHugh also built out space for Other Half Brewing, Ramova Grill and Ramova Loft.
