The Boston Civic Design Commission approved Boston Properties' plan to erect a glass atrium outside 100 Federal St, which will glass in much of an open courtyard facing Congress and Franklin Downtown.
Early plans call for 8,500 SF of retail space, 500 SF of kiosk space and a nearly 9k SF winter garden at street level under the glass atrium, the Boston Business Journal reports. Project architect is Perkins+Will, and Mikyoung Kim Design is landscape architect.
They will next go before the Boston Redevelopment Authority for full project approval. [BBJ]
