COMPETITORS COLLARBORATE

Things are tough in the construction industry with unemployment high, fees low, and competition fierce. But that didn't stop 45 construction and real estate firms from joining hammers Friday to do two weeks? worth of renovation work in one day at Rosie?s Place, which serves homeless women in Boston. Together they renovated the dining hall and food pantries. A few of the many builder-magicians were: Lauring Construction's Mike Lauring, JLL?s James Audette, Lauring Construction's Dan Lauring, and JLL?s Kevin Pearson. (Somebody has got to clean that purple stain though.)
Gilbane Building ?s Scott Burtt, John Lauring, Elaine Construction's Lisa Wexler, and Gilbane?s Peter Menke took just a brief break to smile for our camera. Lisa, who is the chair of AGC Massachusetts and is not afraid of any falling objects, says that it's nice to help the community by signing a check or entering a golf tournament. But it's great to be able to transform a place that does so much to help women down on their luck.
