Seattle Software Company Zeroing In On Star Metals For Regional HQ

The Star Metals office building, which could land Outreach's regional headquarters.

A Seattle-based sales engagement software company is in talks to make the Star Metals project in Westside Atlanta its East Coast headquarters.

Outreach is negotiating with The Allen Morris Co. to lease nearly 33K SF at the 267K SF office building in the Star Metals mixed-use campus a half-mile west of Georgia Tech's campus, a source familiar with the deal tells Bisnow.

Allen Morris Senior Vice President Enrique Pineiro filed a permit for commercial alterations with the city of Atlanta to begin interior work for Outreach in January. When reached by phone, CEO Allen Morris declined to comment. Emails to Outreach weren't returned as of press time.

The project in West Midtown off Howell Mill Road comprises the office building, the 409-unit Star Metals Residences apartments and a pad site for a future hotel. Outreach would be Star Metals' second significant lease. Swiss giant IWG plc — the parent company of Regus and the Spaces coworking brand — leased 56K SF for its luxury coworking brand Signature by Regus.

It has been seven months since Outreach announced plans for a new regional headquarters in Atlanta. Outreach CEO Manny Medina previously told Atlanta Inno that the company would initially lease 7,500 SF somewhere in Midtown, West Midtown or the Old Fourth Ward, with plans to eventually lease 30K SF since the software company has more than 400 customers in the Southeast. Medina said Outreach planned to eventually hire up to 200 local employees.

Since its founding in 2014, Outreach — which makes sales engagement software — has raised venture capital and reached a valuation of $4.4B as of June, according to Geekwire.

"We were looking at talent density, quality of talent, types of feeder schools and which city had a diverse talent pool. Atlanta came up as our No. 1,” Outreach Chief People Officer Leslie Pendergrast told Atlanta Inno last year.
