MILLIONAIRE WINNERS

Three letters helped CBRE's John Shlesinger  and  Sam Holmes grab honors for top honors at this year's Commercial Board of Realtors Million Dollar Club Awards: IBM.

John and Sam accepted the the awards for being the No. 1 producers in the office tenant category. The duo, of course, did a massive short-term renewal  for IBM last year at its Northside Parkway campus (which we reported here). Other top Million Dollar club winners include

  • IDI's Lisa Ward in the industrial landlord category

  • CBRE's Tony Kepano in the industrial tenant category

  • JLL's  Derrick Bloom for the investment category

  • Resource Real Estate Partners' Scott McGregor for the land category

  • Daniel Realty's Doug Guedry for the office landlord category

  • SRS Real Estate Partners' Ray Uttenhove  for the retail category

We met up with JLL's red tie masters  Mike Dolan  and  Ryan Fetz(son of JLL's John Fetz) during the Million Dollar Club party at the InterContinental Hotel in Buckhead. We asked John about what he's seeing with tenant activity. ?I still haven't seen the jobs. I haven't seen the organic growth  yet,? he says. ?But the beauty of it is no one's giving anything back yet.?

King Realty's  Sim Doughtie tells us the industrial market is clearly healthier in 2012. Even smaller  bread-and-butter deals are getting done. (We usually like to start with bread-and-butter deals, then transition into a big meat-and-potatoes deal, and then finish it off with a small sweet deal of some kind.) Between big box tenants searching for those 500k SF or more spaces and tenants 20k SF or smaller, the activity level between both is percolating. ?And activity has been strong,? he says.
Ackerman & Co's  Keene Miller  and  Kris Miller. Kris gave the event's keynote. Keene was one of the  Silver Phoenix  award recipients with the Commercial Board this year, the designation brokers receive for 25 years in the Million Dollar Club.
