CARTER DIALS 1'S AND 0'S FOR BUY

A newly split Carter has used its private REIT to purchase one of the most historic buildings in Atlanta.
 
Carter/Validus Mission Critical REIT, a REIT affiliated with Carter, has purchased 180 Peachtree, the 338k SF former Macy's building in downtown that now operates as a data center (this does not include the actual Macy's space, but does include a parking deck), according to filings with the SEC. The building, converted into a data center by former owner Taconic earlier this decade, is fully leased to six tenants. The fund is expected to pay the current owner, a New York investor, nearly $95M for the property.
