Nate Bargatze plans to bring a theme park to Nashville.

Comedian and Emmys host Nate Bargatze is on the hunt for investors for an amusement park concept he is planning in Nashville.

Bargatze's company, Nateland, has teamed up with Southern California-based Storyland Studios, an entertainment architecture and design firm, and is hard at work on the idea, according to a release from Nateland and Storyland.

"Nate and Nateland are committed to good, clean, family-friendly entertainment," Nateland Entertainment CEO Felix Verdigets said in a press release. "We live in middle Tennessee and recognize the need for a major attraction for people of all ages in the Nashville area."

A Nashville native, Bargatze's first job was at the now-shuttered Opryland USA theme park in Nashville.

Nateland and Storyland are already reviewing possible sites for the 100-plus-acre theme park, and a feasibility study for the park and potential hotel is slated to be complete in the first quarter.

Nateland aims to begin development once the study is complete, so it and Bargatze are working to attract investors to the project.

"Given the current interest in Mr. Bargatze’s entertainment endeavors, the expectations are high for energetic investment participation," the release says.

Bargatze rose to fame with a family-friendly brand of comedy popularized in a handful of Netflix specials. He was the host of this year's Emmys and, through Nateland, is slated to star in his first feature film, which will be released in March, Variety reported.

Bargatze's plans to open an amusement park were announced Tuesday at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions' IAAPA Expo in Orlando, Florida.

The comedian isn't the only celebrity dabbling in amusement parks. Kansas City Chiefs tight end and podcaster Travis Kelce is part of an activist investor group looking to save Six Flags
