Growing political pressure is delaying President Donald Trump's progress securing funding for his promised southern border wall.

Trump counselor Kellyanne Conway recently said that though the border wall remains a priority for Trump, the president has indicated he will not be able to find funding anytime soon, Bloomberg reports. Trump told a group of journalists on Monday he could put off asking Congress for money for the wall until September, a move that could help avoid a partial government shutdown on Trump’s 100th day in office.

In March Trump instructed his team to begin outlining specific infrastructure plans, but in his address to Congress he said he will act on infrastructure after reforming healthcare and taxes. Another delay could hurt the construction industry, which suffered a blow the last time Trump said he would delay his infrastructure plans.
