Walkable Coral Gables

Technically it’s a groundbreaking, but this is South Florida. It’s really a sand shoveling. Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado and District 4 Commissioner Francis Suarez and Greystone Strategic Properties and Alta Developers execs were on hand on Cinco de Mayo to turn the sand for The Mile, a 119-unit multifamily development a block from the Miracle Mile in Coral Gables. (Don't think we don't see you over there on the left not pulling your weight.)

The development represents NYC-based Greystone’s first foray into South Florida, which it’s doing in partnership with local market expert Alta. Greystone CEO Jeff Simpson explains that walkability is key for the development, since demand for housing within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, and cultural activities is red hot. The property gets a Walk Score of 80 (Very Walkable). The property’s proximity to downtown and MIA doesn’t hurt either, Jeff says.
