The LA City Council's Planning and Land Use Management Committee has unanimously approved Caruso Affiliated CEO Rick Caruso's proposed $155M, 19-story tower at 333 South La Cienega Blvd in Beverly Grove.

Fifth District Councilman Paul Koretz also supported the project, which would consist of 154 residential units and nearly 30k SF of ground-floor retail space.

Caruso has agreed to 16 units of affordable housing within the Gensler-designed building.

The number is up from last month when the Mid City West Community Council endorsed it, Urbanize LA reports.

The project is across the street from Caruso's 8500 Burton Way mixed-use development, which has a Trader Joe's on the ground level.

The 333 South La Cienega Blvd development is expected to break ground next year. [ULA]
