Investor Plans Overall Redo of Southwest Center Mall

Dallas-based investor Peter Brodsky acquired about 341k SF of the Southwest Center Mall at auction last week and plans an extensive redo.

Brodsky acquired all of the property at Camp Wisdom Road in South Dallas with the exception of three mall anchor department stores. The mall is about 60% occupied, but Brodsky is confident he can give it the needed lift. "If the mall had quality entertainment options, I think people would flock to it," Brodsky told Dallas Business Journal.

Brodsky is a founder and partner of Dallas-based HBC Investments. He plans to enlist the aid of a group of consultants to help with the redo of the aging mall. [DBJ]
