Could Aon Center Add an Observation Deck?

Potential buyers for Chicago's third-tallest building are considering the possibility of adding one to the 83-story tower at 200 E Randolph St. But it would be a risky undertaking for whomever buys the building from Piedmont Office Realty Trust. Piedmont is already entertaining bids valued at over $650M and the buyer would have to factor additional costs for designing an observatory and building a separate entrance and elevator access to it, Crain's reports. There's also the matter of making an Aon Center observatory stand out against Willis Tower's Ledge Skydeck and 360 Chicago's Tilt! atop the John Hancock Center.
