Blackstone Plans to Expand Willis Tower

Chicago
Placeholder

The Blackstone Group is wasting little time putting its imprint on Willis Tower now that its $1.3B purchase of Chicago’s tallest building closed on Friday. The main change is a proposed low-rise expansion of the building into the south plaza, which will include a combination of retail, food and entertainment. Blackstone is also looking at improvements to Willis’ 103rd floor Skydeck, office spaces and amenities, and existing retail, according to Crain's Chicago. The private equity giant picked The Telos Group to handle office leasing for the building and the improvements could take years to complete. [CC]
