We snapped this of Cesar Pelli at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, Calif., where he was the star attraction at the topping-off ceremony for the 400k SF Red Building. In the four decades since he designed the first building at the PDC, he tells us West Hollywood has become a “marvelous place” to live and work. Indeed, the renowned architect has worked all over the world. In Chicago, Pelli Clarke Pelli’s designing a new facility for The Theatre School at DePaul University. Cesar tells us it’ll contain two theaters in a “very tight urban site.” It’s an interesting, exciting project because it’s “so complex, so difficult to put together. It’s like a three-dimensional puzzle.”
