ECHO Realty just bought two more Harris Teeter-anchored shopping centers, which brings the Pittsburgh-based company’s grand total to six Charlotte-area properties.

The purchase includes Cannon Crossroads in Concord and Matthews Township Shopping Center in Matthews. Cannon Crossroads houses 12 businesses, including Great Clips, State Farm and Domino’s Pizza. Matthews Township Shopping Center has 19 retailers, including Stein Mart, Dairy Queen, Hallmark and Chipotle Mexican Grill.

“Charlotte has been a primary focus for ECHO Realty’s growth, and we are pleased to add two more quality Harris Teeter-anchored centers to our portfolio as we continue to acquire centers anchored by best-in-class grocery,” ECHO Realty CEO Thomas Karet said in a statement.

The grocery-anchored retail owner stepped into the Charlotte market in 2015. The company owns seven North Carolina shopping centers, all with Harris Teeter as anchor tenants. In addition to properties in Concord, Charlotte, Huntersville, Matthews and Mooresville, the company owns a shopping center in Wilmington. The development and construction management, property management, leasing and brokerage company owns 225 properties nationwide.

Matthews-based Harris Teeter employs 30,000 and operates 230 stores in North Carolina, including 17 fuel centers; the 18th opens on Oct. 24 in Belmont.
