Bain & Co Eyeing Move To Midtown

One of Buckhead's elite consulting firms could be moving to a prime Midtown address.

Bain & Co is in talks with Hines Interests to lease two floors at 1180 Peachtree St, the famed twin-pronged tower, often called the King & Spalding building after its key tenant, that lords over Peachtree and 14th streets across from Colony Square. The deal could have Bain & Co move from its current digs at Terminus 100 in Buckhead.

Officials with Hines and Cousins Properties — which leases Terminus 100 — did not return calls seeking comment. Scotland Wright Associates is representing Bain & Co, but officials declined to comment.

This could be the latest deal for 1180 Peachtree and another company flocking to the hot Midtown market in recent months. Aside from Hines being in talks to extend King & Spalding's stay at the 41-story, 670k SF tower, it's also in negotiations with Cushman & Wakefield to move there. As for Midtown itself, as we recently reported, it's been the standout submarket in what was otherwise a just-OK office leasing year last year. More than 600k SF was absorbed by Midtown office landlords in 2016, helping bring vacancy rates close to single digits.
