'The Boogie Down Grind'

Majora Carter Group

Majora Carter is a real estate developer, urban revitalization strategist and broadcast producer/host from the South Bronx. Carter’s career has spanned environment, economy, social mobility, and real estate winning major awards in each sector including a MacArthur 'genius' Grant, a Peabody Award, the Rudy Bruner Award Silver Medal, nine honorary doctorates, and accolades from various professional groups. Her consulting clients benefit from her ability to disrupt outdated assumptions in order to help solve vexing and persistent challenges. Carter is quoted on the walls of the Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture: “Nobody should have to move out of their neighborhood to live in a better one.” She applies this talent-retention lens to all of her work.

She combines her corporate consulting insights for reducing Brain Drain in low-status communities with her firsthand experience pioneering sustainable economic development in the South Bronx to help increase wealth building opportunities across demographics left out of the historic financial tide change of American re-urbanization.

Her ability to shepherd teams through difficult socio-economic conflict has garnered a very long list of awards including: 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs by Goldman Sachs, Silicon Alley 100 by Business Insider, Liberty Medal for Lifetime Achievement by News Corp, and other honors from the National Building Museum, International Interior Design Association, Center for American Progress, as well as her TEDtalk which was one of six to launch that site in 2006.

Pinnacle Real Estate

Fredric Stein has been a builder, developer and owner operator of industrial and commercial real estate for over 40 years. He has de- veloped, repositioned, and invested in real estate in both New York, Florida, and North Carolina. He was a founding partner of Bel-Site Realty Corp. Queens NY, where he specialized in repositioning obsolete industrial sites into big box retail sites and retail strip centers. He has also created numerous partnerships that have resulted in excellent investment returns for their owners. Fred rejoined his professional colleagues at Pinnacle Realty of New York, LLC whom he has worked with and throughout his career. From 1976 to 1986 Fred worked closely with Pinnacle Partners Decio Baio and Steve Nadel. During that time Fred focused on mostly industrial transactions. Fred continues to identify highest and best use alternatives for properties and is often finished with conversions before the competition even recognizes the need. In 1986 when Fred founded Bel-Site Realty, he teamed up with Gary Blum, now a principal in Pinnacle Realty of NY, LLC. who was a high volume broker at a competing firm. Fred and Gary partnered to produce some of the largest transactions in the market, including the many industrial buildings to big box retail use as well as capitalizing on dividing large properties into parts that were worth more than the sum of the whole.

Fredric Stein holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from New York University College of Business and Public Administration as well as a diploma in Real Estate Analysis and Appraisal from New York University Real Estate Institute.
