Welcome to First Draft Live!

The old “back to the office” debate is way past its sell-by date. This week, First Draft Live goes straight into the heart of the office’s reinvention — why it exists, what makes it worth the trip and how that choice is reshaping the economics of a $3T global asset class. In the U.S., vacancy just fell for the first time since 2019 to 22.5%, but attendance is still stuck around 45%, and new construction has collapsed to 6M SF from nearly 50M SF prepandemic.

Industrious co-founder and CBRE Chief Commercial Officer Jamie Hodari joins First Draft Live for a fast, unsentimental look at the psychology, culture and money driving the office’s next act — and what it means for every landlord, broker and city still betting on its comeback.

Every Friday at 12:30 p.m. ET, we go live with industry experts for a sharp, timely conversation on the week’s most impactful topic — inspired by our daily newsletter, The First Draft. Whether it’s CRE capital trends, policy changes, or sector-specific activity, we break down what it means for your business right now.

We’ve hosted some of the industry's top voices — and there's more to come. Bring your questions, join the conversation, or catch the replay within 24 hours if you can't attend live.
