Gardiner & Theobald

Rob manages a diverse team of talented individuals advising on many exciting and varied projects and working with truly market-leading clients.

Rob’s continued connections following previous experience with G&T in the US give him a unique outlook on the cost management process and wider market. He takes a client-centric approach working with developers both in and outside of the UK, understanding their key challenges and delivering best value assets that are profitable.

Although he specialises in the new build, refurbishment and fit-out of commercial buildings, Rob also has vast experience in mixed-use developments and the hospitality sector including restaurants, leisure, hotels and retail.

He strongly believes that those in the industry have a responsibility to promote sustainable development wherever possible and support innovative projects with long-term futures.

At this stage of his career, Rob is passionate about empowering his team to make an impact on the future of construction.

Adam Strudwick

Principal, Corporate Interiors, London

Perkins & Will

Adam has built his career in the commercial workplace industry, working at various scales, and in a range of locations around the world. But most importantly, there is a driving force behind all his designs – creating democratic workplaces that are sustainable for the future.

As we spend the majority of our day working, Adam is passionate about delivering places that make people happier, and better able to do their job. Coupled with this, he is keenly aware that as a society we are using too many resources, and he aims to limit his impact on the planet through environmentally responsible design.

His care for the environment goes beyond his working life too. As a sustainable and healthy way to travel, he is an advocate of cycling, and believes it will be the future of commuting for most people. For Adam, it is a great way to get in some exercise, drop his kids off at school, and still get into work with time to spare

What You'll Learn:

  • The main priorities to consider when first beginning a retrofit project. Should we be fitting out for Cat A in today's world?

  • Creative strategies to make our historic buildings more sustainable through responsible retrofit.

  • How to achieve compliance to meet ESG standards and net-zero carbon targets.

  • The tools to have in place to capture and understand data regarding a building's infrastructure, and how you can plan for a building's circularity.

  • How all the above attracts and retains tenants and how we encourage tenants to pick refurbished buildings over new build.

How You'll Do More Business: Join the discussion as we debate the future of fit-out and whether the considerations of landlords are changing, as the pressure to achieve net zero increases. Listen in to find out the latest market trends and thoughts from the industry on what the future for Cat A might look like, as well as the carbon considerations associated with Cat A installations and ways these can measured.
