and senior vice president of research at the

Greater Houston Partnership.

His observations and analysis on the local,

regional and U.S. economic trends have

appeared in over 200 newspapers,

magazines, radio and television broadcasts,

including The Atlantic, Bloomberg Business,

CNNMoney, Financial Times, Forbes and

The New York Times.

He has worked for the Greater Houston

Partnership, and its predecessor, the

Houston Chamber of Commerce, for 37

years. He has been married to Olga Jankowski for 38 years. Both have been

wonderful experiences.

Rand Stephens is Principal and Managing Director of Avison Young’s Houston

office. He founded the office in 2010 and has guided it into one of Houston’s largest

commercial real estate brokerage companies, as recognized by the Houston Business

Journal. Rand also spearheaded the firm’s Texas expansion with the opening of offices

in Dallas and Austin by acquiring Dallas-based Dillon Corporate Services, Inc. and

Austin-based Commercial Texas.

As Avison Young increases its presence in the Houston market, Rand continues

expanding service lines with the recruitment of quality professionals, as well as

strategic acquisition and organic growth.

During his distinguished career, Rand has completed more than $5 billion in office,

industrial and land transactions. He is a well-respected and highly accomplished

commercial real estate professional with more than 30 years of experience in leasing,

sales, development, acquisition and disposition.

David’ real estate practice includes development, leasing, financing, acquisition, and sale of hotels, office buildings, multi-family residential properties, shopping centers, mixed-use developments, airports, convention centers, and sports and entertainment venues. His public law practice includes public-private partnerships, economic development, public information, entitlements, grants, and other local government matters. His practice focuses on the travel, convention, and visitor industry. This includes developing, leasing, operating, managing, and marketing of convention, sports, and entertainment venues and airport facilities. He serves in leadership positions with several professional organizations, including as a member of the Urban Land Institute’s national Travel Experience and Trends Council.

Kim was born in Flushing, New York and come from many generations of New Yorkers. It was a culture shock when she first moved to Houston, Texas in the late 70's but can now say Y'all with the best of them. Kim graduated from the University of Houston with a BBA in Marketing and has worked in media her entire life. Kim played and coached soccer for many years and even spent a summer in England playing in tournaments. The oldest of three girls, she now has two sons (the first born Texans in her family), a husband and three male rescue dogs.
