Bedrock

Sam Hamburger is the Vice President of Acquisitions and Leasing

at Bedrock. Since its founding, Bedrock and its affiliates have

invested and committed more than $5.6 billion to acquiring and

developing more than 100 properties, including new construction

of ground up developments in downtown Detroit and Cleveland

totaling more than 18 million square feet.

In his role, Sam facilitates all of Bedrock’s acquisitions as well as

overseeing lease deals for new and potential retail and office

tenants.

Sam started at Bedrock as an intern in June 2012, and quickly became involved in many

facets of the business including acquisitions, leasing, management, and development.

Sam has gained a wealth of experience working closely with the company’s leadership

team. He has worked on more than 100 real estate transactions, including major office,

retail, and parking acquisitions in both downtown Detroit and Cleveland, as well as lease

deals for tenants such as Ally Financial and WeWork. Sam currently lives at Broderick

Tower in Downtown Detroit and is dedicated both in and out of the office to Bedrock’s

mission of creating a live/work/play environment in the city.

Sam received a B.A. in Organizational Studies at the University of Michigan in Ann

Arbor, focusing on high-level strategy and leadership in organizations; Sam is also a

licensed Michigan real estate sales person.

David Jacob is a real estate attorney who counsels and represents clients in the

acquisition, sale, financing, and leasing of shopping centers, office buildings,

industrial buildings, apartment buildings, self-storage facilities, hotels, casinos,

and other commercial and residential properties.

 Counsels and represents landlords and tenants in the leasing of

retail, office, and industrial buildings, including ground leases and

major tenant leasing for shopping centers and other commercial

developments

 Counsels and represents real estate developers and owners,

business clients, individuals, and others in the formation,

structuring, and restructuring of joint ventures, general and limited

partnerships, limited liability companies, and syndications,

including preparing offering documents for private real estate

venture equity syndications

 Represents borrowers and lenders in connection with a wide

variety of commercial financing transactions, including secured and

unsecured lines of credit; real estate mortgage loans and

construction loans for shopping centers, office buildings, industrial

buildings, and apartment buildings; land and land development

loans; mezzanine loans; and securitized loans

 Advises clients in the structuring of complex forward and reverse

1031 like-kind exchange transactions, including the coordination

and facilitation of the same

 Counsels and represents clients with respect to the purchase and

sale of tenant in common (TIC) interests in real property in

connection with 1031 like-kind exchange transactions

 Represents shopping center owners and other clients involved in or

in dealing with publicly held real estate investment trusts (REIT)

 Counsels business owners and operators with respect to general

corporate matters

 Serves as special real estate counsel on corporate, mergers and

acquisitions, and financing transactions
