Jano Nixon Kelley

Moderator

Cameron Management

Jano Nixon Kelley is the Director of Leasing and Marketing, overseeing leasing, corporate branding

efforts, website management, investor relations, and tenant relations for the Cameron Portfolio.

CAMERON HIGHLIGHTS

Jano brings leasing and market awareness to Esperson’s redevelopment and resurgence.

Her role on the Redevelopment Team has translated into bringing in significant tenants such as Amegy

Bank, Henneman Rau LLC, Gympass, and Interior Architects to Esperson’s esteemed tenant base.

Working closely with tenants, potential tenants and their brokers, she builds relationships that, in turn,

result in long-term tenancies.

Maintains close relationships with media, including the Houston Chronicle, Houston Business Journal,

Bisnow, as well as others.

Played a major role in the successful disposition of Cameron’s San Antonio properties (One Park Ten

and Energy Plaza I & II [2011]) and Houston properties (1001 McKinney [2018] and The Esperson

Buildings [2007]).

As the Houston Club Building’s General Manager, through networking resources, Jano was responsible

for Cameron Management’s largest lease to-date: 93,428 square feet at the Houston Club Building.

Jano excels in personal relationships and has participated in due diligence tenant interviews for all

buildings, which help signify Cameron’s “high touch” style to tenants. Her team continues this “high

touch” by being responsible for events/galas/table sponsorship’s and major tours.

Jano successfully spearheaded re-branding Cameron Management’s logo and tag line “connecting the

dots” in addition to overseeing the website.

CAREER BACKGROUND

Prior to joining Cameron Management, Jano had a career in corporate banking where her most recent

position was with the Toronto Dominion Bank. She managed the closing of syndicated deals up to $6

billion in loans with more than two hundred financial institutions. Jano coordinated cross-functional

teams of marketing, legal, administrative, lenders, and credit departments. She represented the lending

group as Lead Bank where she successfully completed closings in a timely manner. Additionally, Jano

has been a successful art broker and culinary event planner and instructor.

Hussain Masumi

EMCEE

Bisnow

Hussain's passion for sales and commercial real estate can be traced back to his dad, a first generation immigrant from Afghanistan, who shared his interests of new developments in Dallas, TX with Hussain and a young age. After leaving Dallas, he moved to Fayetteville, AR to attend the University of Arkansas (Go Hogs!) where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Finance with a concentration in real estate. During his time at Arkansas, Hussain established himself as a co-founder of a wine accessory company and a 4.96 star Uber driver (we'd give him a 5). Outside of the office, Hussain cheers for the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Stars, and the Texas Rangers (incase you forgot where he was from). Most importantly, Hussain prides himself on being an investigator and organizer of engaging conversations, connecting with people from all backgrounds.

Summary

  1. In this current climate, how are owners and operators thinking about how to market their spaces and assets?

  2. Proactive vs. Reactive: What should tenants and landlords be doing to protect their businesses?

  3. How are negotiations going down between owners and their tenants? Are lease structures changing or being modified?

  4. Are tenants and landlords adapting to a virtual, digital and online leasing process?

  5. With markets opening back up, how quickly is leasing activity picking up? Which markets remain strong?
