Bisnow Scoop: Sweetgreen Coming to Crystal City

Crystal City is about to get a whole lot healthier. Sweetgreen will open its 32nd location in Arlington's burgeoning tech hub soon, Bisnow has learned. The fast-casual salad shop started by Georgetown alumni will take part of the closed Corner Bakery location on Crystal Drive. Moving in next door will be another über-trendy local chain, Taylor Gourmet. Sweetgreen expects to open a 1,700 SF space later this year, just steps from TechShop and across the street from the new 1776 outpost. Our friends at Vornado, which signed the two eateries, tell us the retail is just another component of attracting innovative companies to the neighborhood where they own 8M SF of real estate. Considering Crystal City already has Chick-fil-A, Chipotle, Good Stuff Eatery, We, The Pizza and Potbelly, it's becoming the fast-casual mecca of Arlington.
