Law Firm Signs 17k SF Lease In Friendship Heights

O’Donoghue & O’Donoghue is moving half a mile up Wisconsin Avenue into a new 16,809 SF Friendship Heights office.

The law firm will move into its new space on the top floor of 5301 Wisconsin Ave. NW, known as Chevy Chase Plaza, on Aug. 1. O'Donoghue is moving out of a 10k SF office at 4748 Wisconsin Ave. NW.

Transwestern brokered the deal on behalf of the landlord, an institutional investor represented by Barings Real Estate Advisers. JM Zell represented the law firm. The tenant O'Donoghue will replace, Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP, opted to move out of the space before the end of its lease to move into 1401 New York Ave. NW.

“We negotiated an attractive buyout agreement with the previous tenant, also a law firm, for the top floor of the building, knowing the space would create an extremely compelling opportunity for other tenants in the Friendship Heights submarket,” Transwestern vice president Scott Fetterolf said in a release.
