A French nuclear power company is moving its U.S. headquarters from D.C. to Bethesda.

Orano signed on for 21,748 SF on the 10th floor of JBG Smith's 4747 Bethesda Ave. development, the REIT announced Monday.

The company currently operates its U.S. headquarters out of 1155 F St. NW, and it has another office in Vienna, Virginia, which it will vacate upon moving into the Bethesda office. CBRE's Brian Wood represented Orano in the deal.

The 15-floor, 281K SF office building with 6K SF of retail is expected to deliver in 2019. JBG Smith announced in July it would move its own headquarters to the project. Host Hotels & Resorts and Booz Allen Hamilton signed on in December for 55K SF and 65K SF, respectively.

"Orano is a leading global company in their field and they represent the type of best-in-class organizations we sought to attract when we embarked on the development of this building," JBG Smith Executive Vice President Dave Ritchey said in a release.

The development sits between retail center Bethesda Row and Carr Properties' 937K SF Apex building development, where the future terminus of the Purple Line will be located. One block north, StonebridgeCarras is planning a $300M mixed-use development with a 390K SF office building and a 219-room AC by Marriott hotel.
