One of the largest office owners in the Southeast is expanding to the nation's capital.

Crocker Partners announced Thursday it has opened an office in D.C., and it hired Tommy Spinosa to lead the firm's expansion in the region.

Spinosa comes from Bridge Investment Group, where he served as director of acquisitions and asset management. He will oversee acquisitions and asset management in the D.C. area for Crocker Partners and will report directly to the firm's two partners.

The Boca Raton-based firm didn't specify where its D.C. office will be located. It will be the sixth office for the company, which also has outposts in Miami, Jacksonville, Atlanta and Dallas.

Founded in 1986, Crocker Partners has acquired and managed at least 154 properties totaling 45.9M SF. The company says it is the largest office landlord in Florida and the 39th-largest in the U.S.

The firm said it has operated in the D.C. region for 15 years but has not had any senior personnel in the market until now. Its website doesn't list any investments in the D.C. market.

"Crocker has a reputation in the market as an investor who excels at repositioning assets and providing world-class management services," Spinosa said in a release. "Pair that with the D.C. Metro area, a vast market with many great assets in need of repositioning, and you have a perfect fit."
