Hitt Contracting Wins Big At NAIOP's NoVa Awards


NAIOP's NoVa chapter held its annual awards ceremony last week, with 26 awards given out for transactions, interiors, marketing, buildings and membership.

Hitt Contracting, posing above, took home one of the night's biggest awards for firm of the year

The award for best product marketing went to The Bartlett in Pentagon City, a Vornado/Charles E. Smith building with Rode Advertising and Brandlink on the marketing team.

Cushman & Wakefield brokered both of the lease transactions that received awards. The first was Carr Properties landing OPower to occupy 63k SF at 2311 Wilson Blvd in Courthouse. The other was Lerner Enterprises signing CSC to 62k SF at 1775 Tysons Blvd


The event's "Great members" included Tracy Allen (left) and CBRE's Leila Sydykova (right), who organized the door prizes and gave away more than $8k to lucky winners, and the awards gala chairs, ADI Construction's Erica Bazow and Christopher Consultants Marie Purkert (center). 

The awards given out to buildings are as follows:

R&D/Industrial/Data Center Award of Excellence: Digital J in Ashburn; Hitt Contracting, Herring & Trowbridge Architects

Adaptive Re-Use Award Of Excellence: WeWork/WeLive in Crystal City; Vornado/Charles E. Smith, Perkins Eastman, ARExA, and James G. Davis Construction Corp

Capital Improvement Award Of Excellence: Greensboro Station in Tysons; SmithGroupJJR, The Meridian Group, James G. Davis Construction Corp and CBRE

Build-to-Suit Non-Institutional Facility Award of Merit: K2M Group Holdings Global HQ in Leesburg; Trammell Crow, Keane Enterprises, MGMA, SKB Architecture, Vantage Construction Co, HITT Contracting and CBRE

Build-to-Suit Institutional Facility Under $20M Award of Merit: Stringfellow Road Park & Ride Facility in Fairfax County; Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services, Ritter Architects and Branch Daffan

Build-to-Suit Institutional Facility, $20M & Above Award of Merit: Charles J. Colgan Senior High School in Manassas; The Christman Co, Prince William County Public Schools and Moseley Architects

Mixed-Use Project Single Building Award of Merit: The Bartlett in Pentagon City; Vornado/Charles E. Smith, Torti Gallas and Balfour Beatty Construction
