Rubenstein Pays $58M for Office Building Across from NSF HQ

David Rubenstein's real estate company just bought a prime piece of real estate, across the street from the future HQ of the National Science Foundation. Rubenstein Partners announced today it bought 2461 Eisenhower Ave in Alexandria, a 360k SF mixed-use building currently in shell form, from the Hoffman Family. The property has 23k SF of ground-floor retail on 2461 Eisenhower and a space for a 7,500 SF retail development next door. Bisnow has confirmed Rubenstein paid $58M in cash and plans a 15-month renovation to complete the Class-A building. "We're excited to announce the closing and begin the implementation of our plan to complete the office and enhance the retail into a first-class project with walkable amenities by a Metro," Rubenstein DC lead Steve Evans says.
