  Lesley plays a pivotal role in developing and delivering Godwin’s plans to build a £1 billion national BTR portfolio. Her main remit is the creation of the BTR operational strategy across both the single and multifamily developments for the business. Working in close collaboration with internal teams and external providers, she is responsible for the operational performance and profitability of our single and multifamily assets while also delivering a leading customer experience across the entire proposition. With a career spanning over 20 years, Lesley has extensive high-level experience with both the BTR and PRS sectors, and has for some time been at the heart of shaping the UK’s Build to Rent offer as President of The UK Apartment Association (UKAA). Prior to joining Godwin, she served as a Partner at Allsop LLP and CEO of Allsop Letting and Management, where she advised developers and institutional investors on the acquisition, design, build and operation of large-scale BTR portfolios. A member of the British Property Federation’s (BPF) residential board, Lesley also toured the US studying the multifamily model there and was instrumental in the concept and development of the UKAA’s BTR Best Practice Guide launched in 2022. She was previously Chair of Soho Housing Association and held roles at Pinnacle Places, Young Group, and City Living London.

  Michael joined Chapman Taylor in 2016 to strengthen the practice’s residential expertise. He joined the UK Board in 2022 and continues to take an active in role in developing the practice’s residential and hospitality sectors across the UK business. He has experience working on award-winning residential projects, with a particular focus on Build-to-Rent, student accommodation, hotels, serviced apartments and modular construction. Michael is a regular speaker at residential and property conferences where he articulates Chapman Taylor’s design approach and skill-sets.   Samantha Kempe is co-founder and CIO at IMMO Capital. Founded in 2017, IMMO Capital is a tech-enabled end-to-end platform for residential investment management. Having previously worked at PwC, Cushman & Wakefield and Blackstone, Samantha co-founded IMMO Capital with the intention of unlocking the Single Family Residential (SFR) market for institutional investors – the company was recently cited by Goldman Sachs and Fintech Collective as the ‘real estate asset manager of the future’. In her spare time (pre-lockdown!) she loves skiing, surfing and discovering new cultures / countries with her young family, as well as passionately championing female leadership and entrepreneurship.

  Catalina joined the Manchester studio in 2021 as an Architect supporting the Feasibility team. She brings a passion for successful placemaking to her work in the residential and mixed-use sectors. She has experience working on a wide range of projects at all work stages, including large residential developments, masterplans, offices and listed buildings restorations. Having completed her MArch degree in Architecture at Sheffield Hallam University in 2018, Catalina is now conducting PhD research there, with a focus on art-centred placemaking. In 2020, she made RIBA’s Rising Stars shortlist for her project work and her research on ethics and sustainability in architecture.   Richard is a qualified chartered surveyor with over 15 years experience in the industry. In 2001, joined Cushman & Wakefield, predominantly working in the Syndicated Funding Team structuring and funding development and investments in the UK and Europe on behalf of retained investors including his now Partner John Dunkerley at London & Capital.   In 2006, Richard joined John at fund manager BPIM working on the UK and European Funds. The later grew from €25m-€270m over a two year period. Sectors acquired included offices, retail, out of town retail, industrial and distribution in 9 countries. In March 2008 Richard co-founded Apache Capital Partners Ltd with John.   Apache is a private real estate investment management firm with offices in London and Bahrain, and specialises predominantly in investing capital from the Middle East into the UK property markets.  Apache currently manages two Investment Platforms focusing on the alternative sectors including; Social Infrastructure (student accommodation and healthcare) and The Private Rented Sector. Apache currently has over £500m AUM with a committed pipeline which with planning with increase the portfolio size to over £1.3bn.  Richard is Managing Director and responsible for the UK business, team and strategies, the portfolio, performance, business development and investor relations.

With over 20 years of property experience, James has also worked in Asset and Investment Management for some of the top real estate companies including JLL and LaSalle Investment Management where he gained a wide range of experience across the Residential and Commercial sectors delivering value-add opportunities across the UK.

  With over 12 years’ experience working in London, Yorkshire, Berlin and Birmingham, Tomasz leads on all things Build to Rent within Bond Bryan, in a nationally-focussed role. As a specialist in regeneration projects, he has also spent time working in Development Management for an Asian-based fund which was investing in London during the infancy days of the Build to Rent sector. Through his experience of working within both client and consultant roles, his position at Bond Bryan has a special focus on bridging the gap between the traditional norms of architect and developer. These duties include identifying land suitable for BTR (both on and off market), working closely with investors – to ensure that maximum viability for BTR can be attained on sites - and acting as lead architect on projects both within the private and public sectors. Tomasz led the design of The Meridian BTR scheme on agateway site in Sheffield and has active sites throughout the UK, including several Pre-Planning schemes in Birmingham and is leading on a Masterplan for the Hagley Road which is being integrated into the Birmingham Future City Plan 2040. Tomasz also sits on the Colmore Row BID ‘Outstanding Places' Working Group and the Design Review Panel for the Jewellery Quarter. He has a special interest in the role which BTR can play as an alternative model for housing delivery and is currently involved with bringing BTR investment models to support schemes for town centre regeneration and suburban locations using DfMA and MMC solutions.
