Appointed in 2017 and reappointed in 2021, Tina Patterson is the owner of a management consulting firm headquartered in Germantown. She is an experienced facilitator, handling dispute resolution for public agencies and private companies. For more than two decades, Patterson has been involved in advocacy, education and outreach on issues dealing with human and women’s rights. She has been a speaker and guest lecturer on various topics, including human trafficking, minority leadership, landmine removal and mediation. She has been featured in several publications including the Association for Conflict Resolution‘s ACResolution magazine, the U.S. Geospatial Foundation’s Trajectory magazine, George Washington University’s Center for Excellence in Public Leadership newsletter as well as the American Bar Association’s Just Resolutions newsletter.

A former member of the Montgomery County Human Rights Commission, in 2019, Patterson was appointed to the County’s Remembrance and Reconciliation Commission by the Montgomery County Council. In 2021, Patterson was one of 15 public leaders nationally selected to participate in the Public Leaders for Inclusion Council led by America Indivisible.

Patterson serves on the board of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) North America Branch (NAB). Furthermore, she serves on the Leadership Advisory Council of Women Impacting Public Policy. She is a member of the United States Geo-Spatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF), the Mid-Atlantic Facilitators Network (MAFN), the International Association of Facilitators (IAF), ArbitalWomen, the American Bar Association (ABA) and an Auxiliary Member of the National Bar Association. She is a graduate of Montgomery County Police Citizen Academy (2012), Montgomery County Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) (2015), and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Baltimore Office Citizens Academy (2019).

Patterson holds a Bachelors in Hispanic Language & Linguistics from Brown University, a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Studies in Alternative Dispute Resolution from Southern Methodist University, and a Masters in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law Straus Institute.

Prior to founding GlenLine in 2019, Scott spent 15 years with Carr Properties, a $3 billion private REIT and one of the Washington, DC region’s most active investors and developers. At Carr, Scott had primary responsibility for acquisitions and dispositions activity in metro Washington and Boston, MA – closing over 40 transactions valued in excess of $2.5 billion while managing many of Carr’s institutional joint venture partnerships. Prior to joining Carr, he executed industrial investments in the Baltimore-Washington corridor at Grange Partners and covered East Coast markets at Archon Group (Goldman Sachs Realty Management).

Scott is a graduate of Dartmouth College and has 24 years of commercial real estate experience. He is a mentor in the Urban Land Institute Washington Mentorship Program and a former board member of the Real Estate Group. Outside of commercial real estate, Scott serves as a trustee of the National Center for Children and Families and in development/strategic growth capacities for Jubilee JumpStart and Miriam’s Kitchen.

Jason has worked in the life science industry for the past 25 years and brings extensive

experience in the biotechnology and life science sector previously working for Celera Genomics

as a Quality Control Supervisor and NeuralStem as a Researcher and Laboratory Manager.

Jason has worked with Turner Construction Company as a life sciences construction market

consultant and for Scheer Partners as a Senior Vice President in charge of Development and

Construction of Life Science facilities.

Jason is currently the president of Equilibrium and oversees Program Management and Design-

Build projects for life science facilities. Jason holds a Bachelors of Science in Biology from the

University of Maryland at Baltimore County, a Masters of Science in Developmental

Neurobiology from Montana State University, and a Masters of Business Administration from

the University of Baltimore. Jason also has published articles in peer reviewed scientific

journals.

Matt Brady has been cultivating his expertise in scientific facilities since 2003. He started his career mentoring under the most pioneering lab real estate minds at Scheer Partners. He has since helped tenants succeed in finding functional space to carry out their groundbreaking scientific processes as well as landlords who had existing labs or were developing labs.

His experiences have established him into one of the foremost authorities on identifying, evaluating, and negotiating lab space in the mid-Atlantic. Matt has a unique understanding that allows him to match scientific processes to real estate solutions.

He has leased and sold over 2,800,000 square feet of scientific space, and worked with a broad spectrum of research, manufacturing, and testing functions including: biotech, pharma, diagnostic, chemical, semiconductor, and agricultural. Matt has advised a range of tenants from start-up companies to full campus headquarters. Additionally, landlords and developers seek his expertise in designing individual labs to ground-up construction as well as guidance to ensure the buildings/spaces will meet the needs of the ever-changing life sciences community.

Pete Briskman is currently Executive Managing Director and Co-Lead for JLL's Mid-Atlantic Life Sciences Practice. Previously, he was the Broker Lead for JLL’s Maryland region overseeing all brokerage operations for both Baltimore and Bethesda offices. His primary focus is working closely with the region’s most visible Life Sciences and Government Contracting organizations, assisting them with strategic real estate planning, lease/purchase structuring, negotiations, municipal incentives and overall transaction management for his clients’ with leased and owned real estate portfolios.

Experience

Pete has over twenty years of experience leading complex real estate assignments nationally for headquarter transactions, custom build-to-suits, consolidations, expansions, and site selection of technical facilities to support his clients’ business needs. He is a multiple recipient of GWCAR’s award for Commercial Leasing Broker of the Year and Leasing Transaction of the Year. He has also been recognized by the Maryland Daily Record’s Power 100 List 2021.

Education and affiliations

Pete graduated from McDaniel College with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He is Vice Chairman of the Board for BioHealth Innovation and sits on the Alumni Council for McDaniel College and Advisory Council for Junior Achievement. Pete is from Montgomery County where he still resides with his wife and three children.

Mr. Marquez, Senior Executive Vice President and President of Commercial

Banking, joined EagleBank in August 2011. Mr. Marquez has over 35 years of

experience in the banking industry. Prior to joining the Bank, he established

the real estate lending franchise for HSBC for the Washington, DC market.

Earlier he was the head of Commercial Real Estate lending at Chevy Chase

Bank from 1997 to 2005, and previously held various lending positions at The

Riggs National Bank in Washington, DC after starting his career at the Chase

Manhattan Bank in New York.

Ken, a former NFL running back for the Washington Football Team (formerly: Washington Redskins) is currently an insurance executive with NFP in Bethesda, Maryland serving Commercial, Benefits, Retirement and Individual clients. Ken has developed an especially strong clientele in the large Non-profit and Government contracting arenas in the DMV.

Recently, Ken has been tapped to lead DEIB task force for NFP regionally/nationally, Landon School in Bethesda, and has been a featured guest and facilitator for the Greater Washington Board of Trade on the subject.

Ken and his wife, Dr. Amy Lewis are empty nesters and golf enthusiasts residing in Mitchellville Md.

Jeff is the President of Ellume USA LLC and leads the team establishing the manufacturing operation and headquarters in Maryland USA and is responsible for all aspects of the North American business operation. Jeff has previously held leadership positions at CSL, Cellestis and most recently with QIAGEN as a Global Franchise Head.

He has over 25 years of experience in Immunology research, assay development and commercialization. He has published more than 30 papers and has received several high-level academic awards. For the last decade he has had an in vitro diagnostic focus for providing insights into unmet medical needs in infectious diseases and transplantation. He is an inventor on several patents and has led the teams necessary for taking diagnostics from concept through to registration and global commercialization.

Jeff holds a Bachelor of Applied Science with Distinction from LaTrobe University, a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in Microbiology and an PhD in Immunology from Melbourne University.

Ulyana Desiderio currently serves as the Director of BioHealth and Life Sciences for the Maryland Department of Commerce. She leads efforts that support the growth of Maryland’s life sciences community, including job creation, capital investment and new business formation. Prior to joining Commerce, Ulyana served as Chief Scientific Officer for the American Society of Hematology, the largest international medical association dedicated to blood diseases. Ulyana holds Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health and is an alumna of the Christine Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.

As Executive Director of the Institute for Biohealth Innovation, Amy Adams and her team support a talented and innovative research community of faculty and students across multiple disciplines who conduct cutting-edge biomedical and health research. She serves as a point of contact to unite George Mason University (Mason) researchers with the broader community.

Amy’s career at Mason began in 2002. She conducted genomics research using cDNA microarrays and reverse transcription real-time PCR to study mRNA expression in breast cancer and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. She conducted research and led outreach efforts in the Center for Applied Proteomics and Molecular Medicine from 2005-2007. Amy used laser capture microdissection, western blot, and reverse phase protein microarray technology to investigate phosphorylation events in signaling pathways to discover new rational drug targets and map protein pathways, which could be applied for disease diagnosis and prognosis. In addition to research, Amy led outreach efforts and built programs including the Aspiring Scientists Summer Internship Program and the Galileo’s Science Café to engage high school and undergraduate students in research across STEM disciplines, communicate science to the public, and foster internal and external research collaborations.

Amy earned a M.S. in Chemistry, and a B.S. in Biology, from George Mason University.

Brad Stewart is a serial biotech entrepreneur working to grow Montgomery County, Maryland’s economy. At the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation, he leads strategy and innovation and also an expert team of economic development specialists focused on growing a diverse cross-section of businesses—including the life sciences, technology, cybersecurity, defense and hospitality. He chaired Maryland Life Sciences for a decade, the State affiliate of BIO, and is currently Chair of the Maryland Tech Council. Previously, Brad served as Chief Executive Officer of Immunology Partners and Chief Executive Officer of Cylex, Inc., where he executed a turnaround for an early-stage, venture capital-backed company (Roche, Siemens, Canaan Partners).

Brian Darmody serves as CEO of the Association of University Research Parks (AURP), a global nonprofit building communities of innovation in 42 states and 12 countries sponsored by universities, hospital systems, government labs and cities and the firms planning and building these communities. The largest number of AURP members are clustered in the DC/Md/Va region. Darmody launched the AURP Bio Health Caucus that focuses on planning and building life science facilities across the globe and is co-author with Rich Bendis of the Journal of Commercial Biotechnology Creating Communities of Life Science Innovation in the U.S.: History of Critical Factors That Helped the Bio Health Capital Region Emerge, March 2021.

Previously, he was the University’s AVP for Corporate and Foundation Relations in the Division of University Relations, AVP for Research and Economic Development, Special Assistant Vice Chancellor for Technology Development for University System of Maryland, Director of State and Federal Relations in the UMD President’s Office and served in the university’s legal counsel office. He worked for the U.S. Health Care Financing Administration Office of Attorney-Advisor and for a member of Congress and member of Maryland House of Delegates.

He is a frequent author and speaker and serves on national and state boards, including Bio Health Capital Region Forum Planning Committee, Fraunhofer USA, and the Maryland Technology Corporation Venture Board. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore, and he received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Senior Managing Research Director Elizabeth Norton oversees all research and market analysis activities throughout all Transwestern offices. Working with the research team, as well as internal and external clients, she provides leadership on timely and interpretative market analysis on the latest real estate trends, while positioning Transwestern as a thought leader. She also serves as a spokesperson to clients and the media.

Elizabeth has more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate research and analysis. Prior to joining Transwestern in 2014, she was the National Research Director at Delta Associates, a Transwestern research affiliate where she oversaw economic and commercial real estate research for the Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston and Denver markets. She previously served as a Needs Assessment Analyst with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

Jay oversees the strategy and execution of all aspects of development for over two million square feet of real estate, which include some of our most notable assets in the D.C. Metropolitan region, such as Pike & Rose, a nationally recognized mixed-use project in North Bethesda, MD.

Prior to joining the company in 2016, Jay was regional vice president for Brailsford & Dunlavey, where he managed the planning, design, and construction activities for over 40 projects comprising nearly one million square feet of vertical construction valued at over $275 million and the development of long-range capital improvement programs valued at over $8.5 billion. Previously, he held development positions with IBG Partners and Urban Development Associates.

Jay holds an MA in Urban and Regional Planning from Virginia Commonwealth University with a concentration in Economic Development and Community Revitalization, and a BA in Biology from the University of Richmond.
