The Go Forth Electric Showcase, the first-ever electric vehicle showroom in the nation, has opened in Downtown Portland at 1st and Taylor in the World Trade Center. Forth (formerly Drive Oregon) operates the space. It is an organization whose goal is to advance electric and shared mobility in the Pacific Northwest — and more specifically to double EV sales in Oregon by 2020.

The organization set up the showroom with the assistance of a $1M grant from the U.S. Department of Energy. To start off, interested parties can look at three kinds of electric vehicles: the 2017 Chevy Bolt EV, the 2017 Ford C-Max Energi and the 2014 Nissan Leaf S, reports The Drive.

Not only can would-be EV owners see the vehicles, they can book a time for a one-hour test drive. The organization hopes actual experience with EVs will help Oregonians, and all Americans for that matter, consider electrics as a transit mode of choice. Thus far, no Teslas are available at the showroom, though that company is planning to roll out its less costly Model 3 later this year.
