MRP Realty Scoops Up 210k SF Tysons Office Building

MRP Realty has picked up a 210k SF office building near the Spring Hill Metro station in Tysons.

The company has partnered with Rockpoint Group to purchase Westwood Metro Tower at 8614 Westwood Metro Center Dr. The sale price has not been disclosed, but the building traded hands back in 2005 when TA Realty acquired the property for $53.7M, GlobeSt reports.

The companies acquired the 12-story building with an eye towards upgrading the on-site amenities. MRP and Rockpoint closed out 2015 with one of the region’s larger office sales of Q4 when they sold two connected office buildings at 1333 H St NW to TA Realty for $162.5M.

The partners were likely attracted to Westwood Metro Tower’s proximity to a Metro stop, a factor that has helped lead to explosive growth in Tysons. Later this month, Bisnow will be hosting Tysons Tidal Wave, which will focus on the continuing evolution going on in Tysons. [GS]
