SMPS's Philly chapter has been going strong for 31 years and continues to be the only org addressing the marketing needs of contractors, engineers, and architects. At the helm since September, prez Susanne Hanson (shown at Monticello Vineyards with beau Peter) has been involved in the group since '08, when an architectural client tipped her off. She's been hooked ever since. SMPS' events include client panels, educational sessions, and networking for its diverse membership. By day, Susanne directs business development at Constructure. She says her personal pet peeve is "whining," but it shouldn't be confused with her favorite pastime, "wining." Get it? (We think she was playing Scrabble when she gave her answers.)
SMPS is all about spreading Philly love through events; it hosted a discussion on the local healthcare market in October, and coming Dec. 11 is its networking frenzy Decemberfest, when it's also hosting a food drive in partnership with Greater Valley Forge TMA to benefit nonprofit Philabundance. The Philly chapter is on an upswing with 125 members, and Susanne wants to grow that number by 20% in 2014.
