A proposed hotel near USC was just voted down by the L.A. City Planning Commission.
The project was rejected by a 4-2 vote last week since the hotel would have a café instead of a full-scale restaurant and it had insufficient bike parking, Curbed reports.
The seven-story hotel would be built where the Vagabond Inn, which dates back to the 1960s, now stands at Figueroa and 31st Street. The proposed development would have a 1,400 SF café on the first floor and 18 bike parking spots.
While the developer, El Segundo's Vista Investments, does not want to delay the project, the commission was interested in postponing it so the plans could be revised. The developer can appeal to the L.A. City Council.
