More Beer is Coming

Karbach Brewing is undergoing a $15M expansion and will build a new 19k SF facility. (We'll toast to that... and literally anything else you wanna toast to. It's Friday.) Three Square Design Group is designing the project, which will sit on 1.2 acres next to the current brewery. It's designed with visitors in mind, with a public taproom, restaurant, special event space, outdoor seating, and gift shop. It'll break ground this spring and deliver in early 2015. Vanessa Ortega is the Three Square project manager.

The brewery has been massively increasing its production; it opened in 2011 and sold 8,000 barrels last year, and this new facility will increase capacity to 60,000 barrels per year. (We'll hold off judgement about the social implications of that trend.) Three Square is creating quite a name for itself in the local beer world; it also designed buildings for Buffalo Bayou Brewing and Fort Bend Brewing.
