WHERE THERE’S SMOKE, THERE’S BBQ

Restaurateur Pierre Bader recently announced a new restaurant concept, City Smoke, opening at Trade and College streets early next year. Pierre tells us it'll bring a ?rustic sophistication? to uptown Charlotte. (The BBQ equivalent of Tom Selleck.) Menu items will include NC pulled-pork barbecue, Texas beef brisket, Memphis dry-rub ribs, and St. Louis sauced ribs. The SC Low Country will also be well represented with one of our personal favorites, shrimp and grits. Wash it all down with a shot of single-barrel Bourbon  or pick from the ?hefty? beer selection. The 100-seat, 3200 SF restaurant will feature 20-foot ceilings, wood walls, and metal accents. Balfour Beatty is GC; Charlotte-based Little Diversifiied Architectural Consulting designed the space.
