GGP Takes Over Leasing at Brookfield Place

Brookfield Property Partners, which has been winding down its Brookfield Place leasing team, is turning to Sandeep Mathrani's General Growth Properties to take over leasing at the new 250k SF retail center. This comes on the heels of Mark Kostic's exit as manager of retail leasing, to become general manager of retail, leasing and asset management at Related Cos, and national director of leasing Ed Hogan's departure to oversee leasing at Vornado, the New York Observer reports. Brookfield also parted ways with McDevitt Co, and luxury retail broker Soozan Baxter Consulting. Brookfield owns a stake in GGP, and two of Brookfield's executives are on GGP's board of directors. According to one broker, about 8% to 10% of the complex is vacant, with spaces ranging from 500 to 6k SF each. [NYO]
