For the 20th consecutive year, CBRE completed more top leasing deals than any other New York City commercial real estate firm, with 28 of the top 50 deals and eight in the top 10, based on CoStar Manhattan office leasing figures for 2016 released this week.

Among the top 50 deals, CBRE captured 5.9M SF of tenant representation deals, which was 2.9M SF more than its closest competitor. CBRE represented 4M SF in landlord transactions, 2.3M SF more than the closest competitor.

“This unprecedented performance," CBRE Tri-State occupier services leader and executive managing director Kyle Schoppmann said, "is a testament to the caliber and commitment of our professionals and their ability to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients year after year."

CBRE's landmark 2016 deals included New York’s largest lease of the year, S&P Global, formerly McGraw Hill Financial, for 900K SF at 55 Water St., and the largest relocation of the year, Major League Baseball for 418K SF at 1271 Avenue of the Americas.

CBRE also represented UBS and Coach in the second and third largest leases of the year, UBS for 891K SF at 1285 Avenue of the Americas and Coach for 694K SF at 10 Hudson Yards.

Other notable CBRE leases include a trio of sports league transactions on behalf of the National Basketball Association (196K SF at 645 Fifth Ave.), the National Hockey League (161K SF at One Manhattan West) and the Major League Baseball lease at the Time-Life Building.
