Placeholder

Billionaire Kirk Kerkorian, famous for his investments in the auto industry and Las Vegas real estate, died Monday evening at his home in Beverly Hills. He was 98. Kirk was responsible for building massive Las Vegas hotels, and at one point owned the Bellagio and the Mirage. In addition, Kirk put money into Chrysler in the early '80s and General Motors in 2005, only to get out of both during economic upswings, reports the LA Times. Forbes puts his net worth at $4.2B, though at one point Kirk was the richest resident of LA. [LAT]
