Bill Gates-Backed Heart Aerospace Leases 30K SF In Torrance
Heart Aerospace has signed a lease for a 30K SF factory at 1830 W. 205th St. in Torrance.
The new facility’s grand opening is slated for early in the first quarter, according to Zacuto Group, whose Andrew Sinasohn and Jake Zacuto brokered the transaction on behalf of the tenant.
The Bill Gates-backed aerospace company makes hybrid electric planes for regional air travel. It will use the new factory to support development of a new prototype: the company’s second hybrid 30-seat regional airplane. The new warehouse features grid-scale power and is large enough to accommodate aircraft.
“Torrance checked all the boxes for Heart Aerospace,” Sinasohn said in a statement.
“From a real estate standpoint, the city provides the right mix of modern infrastructure, proximity to major aerospace partners, and access to a highly skilled workforce.”
In April, Heart announced the relocation of its headquarters from Gothenburg, Sweden, to El Segundo, where it opened a research and development facility in 2024.
The South Bay has an extensive history as an aerospace hub, one that has seen a revival as aircraft and spaceflight companies move in over the last few years.
