The reno of the more than 50-year-old Century Plaza Hotel is aiming to be a crowd pleaser, according to new renderings.

Work on the $2.5B project began last year.

The interior reno is being done by Gensler, Curbed reports.

Fairmont Hotels will operate the new and improved property.

The project includes adding 63 condos to the hotel and removing around half of its 726 rooms.

Pei Cobb Freed is designing two, 46-story residential towers that will be built on the property. There will also be shops, restaurants and outdoor garden space designed by Rios Clementi Hale Studios added.

Construction on the hotel is expected to be finished next year. [Curbed]
