Tom Skinner is a founding member of Redbrick LMD and is one of the firm’s three Managing Partners. He has invested in and developed close to $2 billion in real estate assets and established a pipeline of over $4 billion in future development projects.

Prior to founding Redbrick, Tom invested in or founded numerous operating businesses primarily in the real estate, technology and financial services industries. Tom began his professional career at McKinsey & Co. where he worked with financial institutions on strategy issues. Tom earned his Ph.D. in economics from MIT and his BA in economics from Oxford University.

Rear Admiral Edward “Sonny” Masso USN (Ret) serves as the President of the Navy Museum Development Foundation where he is responsible for Operations and Fundraising for the Navy’s new Museum, located adjacent to the historic Washington Navy Yard. Rear Admiral Masso served thirty-two years in both the active and reserve components of the Navy. His Flag assignment included: Vice Commander Naval Surface Forces Command, Assistant Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Manpower, Personnel, Training and Education (OPNAV N1B), and Commander, Navy Personnel Command/Deputy Chief of Naval Personnel.

Rear Admiral Masso was highly decorated and received eleven personal medals, including the Navy’s Distinguished Service Medal. Of all his personal recognitions, he is most proud of the Meritorious Unit Commendation his Command received for service in the Pentagon during the 9/11 disaster, where his command tragically lost 34 personnel.

John B. Mason has been a principal and managing member of numerous commercial and residential real estate

transactions over the past thirty years.

Mr. Mason is the Founder and Managing Partner of Garfield Investments, LLC, Intrepid Capital, LLC and Intrepid

Real Estate, LLC which he founded in 1997 for the purpose of identifying and capitalizing on distressed, undervalued

and mispriced commercial and residential properties in the Washington, D.C. and Mid-Atlantic region..

Mr. Mason has been involved in all aspects of commercial and residential real estate including, ground-up development,

leasing and asset management, zoning, historic preservation and distressed asset workouts. Mr. Mason has been

responsible for acquisitions, project leadership, asset management, and day-to-day operations.

Accomplishments and responsibilities include:

o Facilitated and transacted over $600M in investment, financing, and development of office and residential

projects.

o Managed the acquisition, renovation, and repositioning of multiple downtown Washington, DC office

buildings, yielding a 30% internal rate of return for investors.

o Developed and executed investment strategies while sourcing on and off market opportunities through an

extensive network of owners, brokers, institutions, and bankers.

o Served as project executive for all developments and investments, leading strategic plan design and execution

across capital investment, leasing, marketing, and branding.

o Oversaw partnership matters, operating plan development and implementation, tax and audit preparation,

risk management, and lender relationships.

o Acquired and redeveloped a student housing project by negotiating the removal of a federal land-use

restriction with the FDIC and local authorities, resulting in a 100% value increase and a 10x return on equity.

o Entitled a historic building for a Class-A residential development within 10 months, succeeding where three

previous developers had failed. Engaged directly with the community to build support and manage concerns,

leading a team of experts to secure city approvals which had previously been denied.

Emeka Moneme is the President of the Capitol Riverfront Business Improvement District. The

Capitol Riverfront BID is a Washington, DC community nestled between the US Capitol to the

north and the Anacostia River to the south. The neighborhood is served by Metrorail, hosts

stadia for two professional sports teams – the Washington Nationals (MLB) and DC United

(MLS), the Washington Navy Yard, US DOT headquarters, numerous office buildings, and a

growing residential community. It is truly a mixed-use, 15-minute neighborhood, and regional

activity center.

Emeka has been a strategic advisor and executive leader of enterprises at the intersection of

urban infrastructure, mobility, development, and finance. He brings over twenty years of

experience as a cross-sectoral leader in the public, private and non-profit sectors. Emeka has a

proven record of developing and implementing innovative infrastructure financing and delivery

solutions, negotiating alignment and partnerships across a broad and diverse set of interests.

Emeka’s public leadership record includes time with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit

Authority (WMATA) as both Chief Administrative Officer and Chief of Staff to the CEO, and as

the Director of the District Department of Transportation (DDOT). In addition, he spent six years

as Deputy Executive Director of the Federal City Council (FC2) – a premier business

organization dedicated to the advancement of the nation’s capital.

Emeka was raised in Ohio and is a graduate of both Miami (OH) University and the University of

Cincinnati. He and his wife have lived in the DC region since 2000 and reside in the 16th Street

Heights neighborhood of Washington, DC.

Bob Murphy is the Managing Principal for MRP Realty. He has over 34 years of experience in commercial real estate operations, ownership and investment. He joined Trammell Crow Company (TCC) in 1987, managing the firm’s regional operations for many years as Principal. Bob’s last role with TCC was area president of the development and investment group in the Mid-Atlantic where Bob and his team completed $1.8B of investments totaling over 10 million square feet. He co-founded MRP Realty (MRP) in 2005, capitalizing on his in-depth knowledge of Mid-Atlantic real estate markets, extensive network of capital relationships, and his reputation as a collaborative and creative partner to drive the firm. Under Bob’s leadership, MRP has deployed nearly $7.8B of office, residential/mixed-use and industrial developments and acquisition investments with an active pipeline totaling over 8 million square feet. He has actively participated in leadership roles at NAIOP and ULI and at various charitable activities during his career; currently serving on the board of Habitat for Humanity of Washington D.C. Bob received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Notre Dame; his M.B.A. in Finance at Columbia Business School; and was an officer in the United States Army.

John Kilborne has nearly 10 years of experience in commercial real estate. In his current role at Redbrick LMD, John is focused on development at the Bridge District.

Prior to joining Redbrick LMD, John worked at Carr Properties, where he was involved in the development of office and mixed-use projects in Washington, DC, Boston, and Austin. Previously, John worked at MAC Realty Advisors, where he helped raise debt and equity for residential and mixed-use projects in the DC area.

John has an MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and a BA in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis.

Maia Shanklin Roberts is POAH's Vice President of Real Estate Development for the mid-Atlantic region, based in POAH’s Washington, DC office.

In this role Maia manages POAH’s portfolio in the Mid-Atlantic Region including the redevelopment of Barry Farm, part of the District's New Communities Initiative to transform key neighborhoods by redeveloping public housing and the surrounding area into vibrant mixed-use, mixed-income communities. This includes involvement in Barry Farm's design and construction, working with POAH staff and external resources, partners, and stakeholders to advance the project in a timely and cost-effective manner that is responsive to former Barry Farm residents’ needs. In addition, Maia represents POAH before municipal and other regulatory boards, along with assessing the feasibility of other potential development opportunities in the region.

Prior to joining POAH, she was a senior associate at Ballard Spahr LLP and an associate at Bocarsly Emden Cowan Esmail & Arndt LLP where she facilitated, structured, and documented numerous affordable housing, adaptive reuse and mixed-use transactions financed with state, historic and energy tax credits, tax-exempt private activity bonds and other public financing vehicles.

Maia also worked as a law clerk at Klein Hornig LLP in Washington, DC where she supported in the representation of nonprofit and for-profit developers in connection with the structuring, management and closing of new construction and preservation transactions for affordable housing and other community development projects.

She was a Housing Policy Fellow at Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development and Supervisory Program Manager at the Coordinating Council on Youth Violence Prevention/Peaceoholics.

Maia holds a J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law, a Master's in Community Planning from University of Maryland, College Park, and Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from Stanford University.

Brian Earle is a Principal and Project Manager with ZGF with 18 years of experience leading mixed-use, multifamily, corporate and commercial, renovation, and master planning projects. With each project, Brian instills a rigor of collaboration, communication, and management, ensuring that design and construction teams meet all client goals. Brian works closely with owners to create environments that uniquely respond to their needs and the needs of users. His collaborative approach and leadership ability has resulted in notable projects for clients including JBG Smith, Redbrick LMD, Washington REIT, Bozzuto Development, Orr Partners, Mill Creek Residential Trust, The Aerospace Corporation, the Virginia Department of Transportation, and Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH). Brian earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
