Why you can't miss this year's Mid-Atlantic Life Science and Biotech Summit

What You'll Learn

  • How lab vacancy rates are shifting through the glut of oversupply.

  • Where is bio-manufacturing investment expanding across the Mid-Atlantic.

  • What tenants require before committing to new life science space.

  • How capital markets are pricing risk in today's lab real estate.

  • Where public and private partners are building the region's innovation infrastructure.

Why This Matters

The Mid-Atlantic life science market is entering a new phase, and the picture is more complicated than a simple recovery. Lab vacancy is declining, yet major landlords are still absorbing losses and preparing space vacated by long-time tenants. At the same time, biomanufacturing investment is accelerating, with hundreds of millions of dollars committed to Maryland and Virginia facilities even as traditional leasing stays cautious. Join us as we explore how developers, investors, and innovators are navigating this uneven recovery to keep the Mid-Atlantic among the nation's top life science hubs.

Capital in Motion: Bio-manufacturing Investment, Distress, and Development Financing

Capital is splitting in two directions across the region's life science sector. Bio-manufacturing is pulling in fresh investment as pharma companies commit to new production space, even as lab-focused landlords work through losses and distressed assets. Lenders and investors are recalibrating where they see durable demand versus where they're still absorbing risk from the last cycle. This panel will break down how capital is being deployed across manufacturing, development, and distressed opportunities, and what it takes to get a deal financed in today's market.

Building the Hub: Public-Private Partnerships and Innovation Infrastructure Across DC, Maryland, and Virginia

The Mid-Atlantic has held its place among the nation's top biopharma clusters for years, but staying there takes more than lab space. Universities, research parks, and government agencies are increasingly the ones setting the pace, shaping where innovation districts take root and how new companies get from lab bench to lease signing. This panel will explore how public-private partnerships are shaping the region's life science infrastructure.

Leasing Reset: Vacancy, Tenant Demand, and Flight to Quality in Mid-Atlantic Labs

Lab vacancy across the Mid-Atlantic has ticked down for the first time in years, but the leasing market isn't out of the woods yet. Tenants are consolidating into newer, better-positioned buildings while older lab stock sits empty and landlords rework space built for a tenant that never came. This panel will examine where real tenant demand is concentrated, what's driving the flight to quality, and how owners are repositioning vacant lab assets to stay competitive.
