Joe Kava is the former vice president of Data Centers at Google. His current responsibilities include engineering, construction management and delivery, critical facility operations, environmental health and safety, and sustainability for Google’s global fleet of data centers. Joe joined Google in 2008 from RagingWire Data Centers, a privately held colocation provider in Sacramento, California. While at RagingWire, Joe served as the company’s chief operating officer, where his responsibilities included design, construction, facility operations, managed services, business planning, and development. Prior to joining the data center industry, Joe spent 17 years in the semiconductor industry, working at LSI Logic and Applied Materials in various technical and executive roles, such as process and product development, new product introductions, engineering operations, business development, general management, and IT operations. He holds four US Patents for his work in reactive ion and plasma etch technology while at Applied Materials. Joe has a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Engineering from the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. During his tenure at Google, Joe has been a staunch advocate for building sustainable data centers and implementing Google’s cloud computing strategy. He is passionate about educating the global data center industry so that others can benefit from the efficiency best-practices pioneered by Google.

Lee has more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of information systems, strategic business development, finance, planning, human resources, and administration both in the private and public sectors. Lee has successfully led several technology startups and turnarounds as well as built and run world-class global operations. He is a trusted advisor and independent consultant for various organizations in the data center sector and provides interim leadership to emerging and transforming technology companies. His core technical competency focuses on improving the performance of critical infrastructure through sustainable solutions that reduce power and water consumption with application across all industries. Lee provides leadership from business strategy development through funding to execution and his focus on sustainable operations has repeatedly driven value to all stakeholders. Salute launched in 2013 and is focused on providing military veterans with job opportunities. By immersing the veterans and helping them gain experience and skills this initiative will deliver a feeder system to the data center industry and the first step in a career for the veterans. In addition to an MBA from University of Washington and further studies at Henley School of Business in London and Stanford University, Lee holds professional certifications in management and security (ITIL v3 Expert, Lean Six Sigma, CCO). Raul is a 25+ year veteran in the telecom and Internet Infrastructure sector. He most recently served as a Senior Advisor for Digital Bridge Holdings LLC. Prior to Digital Bridge, he served as Chief Executive Officer for New Jersey-based data center and managed services operator Net Access, LLC. Net Access was acquired in November 2015 by Denver-based data center operator Cologix. Prior to Net Access, he was the CEO of Voxel dot Net, Inc., a global managed hosting and cloud company, which was acquired by Internap Network Services Corp. in early 2012. Mr. Martynek also served as the Chief Restructuring Officer of Smart Telecom, a Dublin, Ireland-based fiber carrier which was acquired by Digiweb in 2009. Before that he evaluated investment opportunities in the telecommunications and Internet sector as a Senior Advisor at Plainfield Asset Management, a $4B hedge fund. Prior to Plainfield, Mr. Martynek spent 13 years with telecom and Internet provider InfoHighway Communications Corp; first as a Chief Operating Officer of Eureka Networks and then as President and Chief Executive Officer of InfoHighway. InfoHighway was acquired by Broadview Networks in 2007. Mr. Martynek earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Binghamton University and received a Master Degree in International Affairs from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs.

Nancy Novak, Compass Datacenters’ Chief Innovation Officer, has over 25 years of construction experience and has overseen the delivery of over $3.5 billion in projects during that time. Prior to joining Compass, Nancy was the National Vice President of Operations for Balfour Beatty Construction which she joined after serving in a variety of executive positions for Hensel Phelps Construction Company. Ms. Novak is a member of the iMason’s advisory council and is actively involved in a number of organizations dedicated to the advancement of woman in business including Above the Glass Ceiling (AGC) who are working with Fortune 500 companies to aid in the advancement of women in STEM, Women in Government Relations (WGE), Women Construction Owners and Executives (WCOE), The World Trade Center Initiative, Fortune Media’s Most Powerful Women and the National Women’s Party. Clint Heiden joined QTS in 2018 to lead the company’s Hybrid Colocation Sales and Marketing organization. Clint has more than 26 years of sales leadership experience in the data center, telecommunications and internet technology industries.

Prior to joining QTS, Clint served as Chief Commercial Officer for five years at another data center company where he helped sell and deliver more than 80 megawatts of critical capacity to customers. He also previously served as President of Sidera Networks and held senior leadership roles at PAETEC, Cable & Wireless America and UUNET. In these roles, Clint led organizations responsible for over one billion dollars of annual enterprise revenue while at the same time generating significant organic revenue growth.

Clint received his BBA in Computer Information Systems from James Madison University, where he continues to sit on the Board. Clint lives in McLean, Virginia with his wife and four children.

After graduating from West Point and serving in the US Army, Rob earned master’s degrees in construction management and public administration from the University of Illinois and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, respectively. He shows up for work mostly because he likes inventing things, with that he is trying to change the way data centers are built. He is particularly keen on figuring new ways to bring speed to the construction equation. For example, after two years of development Polargy launched its structural ceiling system with speed as must have. Today, builders are installing 75,000 square feet in a quick 8 days. On the personal side, Cary is easily distracted by shiny objects. However, when you’re talking to him you will have his full attention; he won’t be checking his text messages.

Jeff Moerdler is chair of the Haynes Boone Data Center and Digital Infrastructure Practice and a real estate partner in the New York office. He has more than 40 years’ experience in general commercial real estate law. Jeff’s real estate practice includes acquisitions, sales, development, leasing, and borrower’s side financing. Jeff also has a particular focus on real estate challenges facing communications, technology and energy companies, and represents property owners and telecom companies in telecom real estate matters, particularly in data center development, acquisitions, sales, leases, colocation agreements and service level agreements. His clients include both large national companies and smaller, local clients, and includes representation of landlords and tenants in all types of leases; counseling owners and developers in the acquisition, sale, joint venture, development, and renovation of property as well as sale-leaseback transactions; advising lenders and borrowers in commercial loans; and the representation of all parties in real estate litigation. He is actively involved in settling real estate, partnership, and inter-family disputes. He also represents many not-for-profit entities and is active in health care, senior living, and educational real estate.

During the past 35 years, Jeff has developed considerable experience in the intersection of real estate with communications, technology, and energy issues. He has extensive experience representing landlords, tenants, developers, and communications service providers in the leasing, purchase, sale, and financing of data centers, colocation facilities, radio and television broadcast antennas, distributed and in-building wireless systems, rooftop antennas, and fiber-optic transactions as well as the wiring of buildings for broadband communications access. Jeff has also negotiated thousands of data center leases, master services agreements, colocation agreements and service level agreements, rooftop and cellular antenna leases, inside wiring agreements, and antenna tower leases throughout the country – covering over 500 million square feet.

He has also devoted a considerable portion of his practice to power and energy issues related to real estate and other technology matters, including large solar and wind installations, battery storage facilities, and bulk power purchases.

Jeff is a frequent speaker on real estate, data center, and telecom topics around the country. He is Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and on the faculty of the Advanced Commercial Leasing Institute. He regularly speaks as a panelist at data center, digital infrastructure and real estate conference around the United States. In addition, he is regularly quoted in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Bisnow, Commercial Property News, Real Estate Weekly, and other publications. He co-authored the first treatise chapter on telecom real law for Powell on Real Property in 1999.

Jeff has previously served in numerous governmental positions, including as a Commissioner of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, a member of the New York State Banking Board, a member of the New York State Financial Control Board, a member of the Departmental Disciplinary Committee of the Appellate Division of the First Department of the New York State Supreme Court, Assistant to the First Deputy Mayor of the City of New York, and assistant to the Deputy Borough President of the Borough of Manhattan. Drives Metromont’s practice of acting as a specialty precast subcontractor in the data center -- and not just the manufacturer of various precast parts and pieces. Metromont can self-perform 100% of the precast concrete work, beginning from structured design-assist engagement, through field erection of "all-precast" buildings.

Leads the activities of Metromont’s VA Sales staff in pursuit of projects primarily in Virginia’s Data Center Alley, but across the U.S. Metromont has the capability of extending its reach beyond this area, on certain projects, where organizational strengths, financial capacity, and past experience -- particularly with regard to mission-critical projects -- are required.

35 years experience in the precast/prestressed concrete industry, including responsibilities for nearly every aspect of the ", get work" and "do work" functions. Directly involved in preconstruction through contract, in 20M SF of all precast data centers.

Having spent nearly a quarter-century in the field of economic development, John

serves as Director of Business Development for the Prince George’s County’s

Economic Development Corporation (EDC), where he markets the County’s key-

location-assets to expanding and relocating firms.

Working closely with federal, state, county and local government agencies, John

provides guidance to firms in navigating regulatory permitting and zoning processes and

policy, assist firms in accessing public-funding and tax-incentives resources that

mitigate relocation and expansion project-cost, as well as connects those firms to

potential private-equity partners. Additionally, John assists firms in identifying on-market

and off-market building-and-sites that meet client-specific requirements and serves as

Prince George’s County’s Opportunity Zone (OZ) Representative, helping to attract OZ

investment to the County.

John previously served as the Deputy Director at Dorchester County Maryland’s

Department of Economic Development and spent nearly 10 years at the Maryland

Department of Commerce (formerly Maryland Department of Business and Economic

Development), serving as Senior Marketing Executive for the Finance, Insurance and

Real Estate (FIRE) industry-sector recruitment team. In addition, John has served on

various local boards, and was recently appointed to the local New Market Tax Credit

(NMTC) Advisory Board.

John earned a BS degree in Business Administration from Southeastern University, and

his MBA from Wilmington University.

He is a 20-year member of the Maryland Economic Development Association, and

resides in Bowie, Maryland.

Adam Knobloch has been involved in the commercial real estate event and media space since 2010, having held roles in sales, account management, production and coordination. He joined Bisnow Media as the Global Director of Data Centers after having led event sales and strategy efforts in the CRE space for nearly a decade. Since 2012, he has found a significant passion for the data center and technology sectors, while building an international network of active followers across numerous asset classes in the US, UK, Canada and Ireland. In his current role, Adam oversees Bisnow Media's event and sponsored media strategy for the data center sector, having expanded its Datacenter Investment Conference & Expo (DICE) Series event offerings to more than 15 markets, with an international presence in the UK and Canada.

He previously held a board member role on the Telecom Exchange (TEX) Advisory Board, collaborating on content, speaker recommendations and event strategy. Additionally, he has made a point of promoting local and national organizations with a focus on STEM education and advancing the next generation into the technology sector through support, collaboration and ambassadorship. Notable organizations include the Nomad Futurist Academy, Infrastructure Masons, H5 Data Centers' STEM Fest and local chapters of both 7X24 Exchange and AFCOM.

In his personal life, Adam is a musician, having toured the east coast as the drummer of The Gantry. He was a frequent member of the NYC folk/indie rock music scene and is currently the drummer for A.M. County.

Adam holds a Bachelor's Degree of Business Administration from American University's Kogod School of Business, with a focus on Marketing and Public Relations.

Chris Flynn brings more than 25 years of commercial real estate experience and well over $25 billion in overall real estate transaction experience to Strategic Data Center Fund Manager, LLC. As Chief Investment Officer, Chris provides the strategic vision to turn business goals into actionable plans with appropriate risk management. In this role, he is responsible for acquisitions, leasing and management strategy.

Prior to Strategic Data Center Fund Manager, LLC, Chris was President at Lightstone Data Fund where he served as the company’s leader in the investment of digital infrastructure assets. In this capacity, he had overall responsibility for the strategic planning, capital raising, financing, acquisitions, development, operation and leasing.

Prior to joining Lightstone, Chris was a Vice President of Global Real Estate at EdgeConneX, a wholesale data center owner and developer, where he was responsible for all aspects of real estate including the acquisition and development of 40 data centers in the U.S., Canada, Europe and South America. The EdgeConneX portfolio consisted of over 3 million square feet, in excess of 350 megawatts of critical power and over $6 billion worth of data center transactions which helped EdgeConneX to grow from one data center in 2013 to a global presence in the edge and hyperscale market.

He was formerly the Director of Real Estate at XO Communications, a telecommunications company owned by Verizon Communications which provides managed and converged internet protocol network services for small and medium-sized enterprises. During his time at XO, Chris led a real estate team responsible for over $10 billion in acquisitions, renewals and dispositions and managed over 50,000 telecom license agreements. Chris serves on the board of directors for The First Tee of Washington, D.C. and volunteers at Stone Ridge School and Mater Dei School.

Prior to co-founding Legacy Investing, Daniel was a tech start-up executive with leadership roles across M&A, corporate development, strategy, and product management. Daniel studied engineering at Carnegie Mellon University and Economics and Finance at Emory University.

Mr. Hochanadel joined the firm in 2020. As Managing Director and Head of Digital Assets, he is responsible for leading Harrison Street’s digital real estate business and defining strategy for the digital sector, establishing key initiatives and executing the sourcing, analysis and closing of joint venture partnerships and investments in the sector. Prior to joining Harrison Street, he was with Jones Lang LaSalle for 15 years where he was a senior leader for the firm focused on the data center asset class. As part of the Capital Markets team, he provided capital placement and structuring expertise to help user and investor clients develop optimal real estate finance solutions. Mr. Hochanadel focused on sale leasebacks, investment sales, build to suit transaction structuring and lease restructuring. Since 2005, he has been involved in the execution of over 49 million square feet of transactions valued in excess of $7 billion including industrial, office, data center, retail and life sciences real estate. As a market leader in the data center sector, Mr. Hochanadel has closed approximately $4.0 billion of transactions involving data centers and telecommunications assets. With a national focus, transactions have spanned all meaningful data center categories including turnkey colocation sites, powered shells, carrier hotels, enterprise facilities, telecommunications switch buildings, development projects and high-performance computing centers across 18 U.S. and European markets. Mr. Hochanadel received his MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business and graduated from Harvard University where he was a member of the baseball and football teams.
