Established in 1910, the legendary Howard Theatre is a staple in DC music history as one of the first places to host African-American audiences, giving rise to greats like Duke Ellington, Aretha Franklin and James Brown. Recently updated with breathtaking state-of-the-art renovations and full service restaurant, The Howard Theatre has since expanded its calendar of events to a diverse spectrum of entertainment. From R&B and jazz to indie rock and electronica, past artists include the likes of Peaches, Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child, Big Freedia, Misfits, Thrice and Blonde Redhead.
