Diego is responsible for analyzing and structuring LD&D's investments and overseeing all asset management activities for LD&D's portfolio. He brings extensive experience in real estate development and investment, having previously worked at The Carlyle Group in the US Real Estate Fund, where he was involved in over $2B of development and investment projects. During his time at Carlyle, he contributed to the development of more than 700 high-end residential units in the New York City area. Prior to that, Diego was an Associate on the Real Estate Finance team at Goldman Sachs & Co., where he played an active role in the repositioning of the $500M Conrad Hotel in NYC and provided development and investment analysis for several of Goldman Sachs' real estate assets.

Diego holds an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania as a Wharton Fellowship Scholar, with a triple major in Real Estate, Finance, and Management, and a Certificate in Law from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He also holds a Master of Science in Engineering Management and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Cornell University. Diego is a LEED Accredited Professional and has consulted with the Miami Downtown Development Authority (DDA) on resilience and climate change.

Matt Harrell

Matthew Harrell was named Franklin Street’s Chief Executive Officer in 2022. Mr. Harrell, who has been with Franklin Street since 2009, was the firm’s top producer for several years before transitioning into a companywide leadership role.

Before becoming CEO, Mr. Harrell served as Chief Revenue Officer, with responsibility for overseeing all aspects of Franklin Street’s growth initiatives including business development, M&A, recruiting and training. Prior to that, he served as Managing Director of Franklin Street’s Insurance Services division where he led its national accounts team and helped establish insurance as the firm’s largest and highest revenue-producing business line. He has also served on Franklin Street’s Board of Directors since 2012, providing strategic guidance on the long-term vision and trajectory of the company.

Today, as Franklin Street top executive, Mr. Harrell leverages his experience growing national business and developing top-producing teams to expand Franklin Street’s national presence and strengths. He also oversees the continued growth of Franklin Street’s collaborative, cross-functional business lines – including capital markets, tenant and landlord representation, insurance services, project management and property management – in both existing and new markets.

In his time with Franklin Street, Mr. Harrell has been recognized on numerous occasions for his sales and leadership accomplishments, ranking as Franklin Street’s top producer from 2013 to 2021 and earning the firm’s “Leadership Award” in 2010, 2011 and 2019. He received Business Observer’s “40 Under 40 Award” in 2017 and Insurance Business America’s “Platinum Top Producer” honor in 2021.

Prior to joining Franklin Street, Mr. Harrell served as a Vice President on the Real Estate Practice team for the Willis Group – the world’s third largest insurance broker – where he managed a group of clients who owned more than 30 million square feet of real estate. He also has worked for the world’s largest insurance broker, Marsh and McLennan, based in New York.

Mr. Ward is a Managing Director and co-heads BMO’s U.S. Commercial

Real Estate National Core Team. Doug has been with BMO for 4 years

and is voting member of the Prescreen Committee. He is responsible

for new business originations along with all aspects of portfolio

management for the team.

Prior to joining BMO Harris Bank, Mr. Ward worked at Fifth Third Bank in

the commercial real estate group along with roles in workout and

commercial lending. Prior to joining BMO, he ran National Private Real

Estate.

Doug is on the Advisory Boards for both Treplus Communities and

Coastal Ridge. He also served on the Finance Committee for Valley Lo

Club and coached Glenview Youth Baseball.

Doug graduated from Wittenberg University.

Arturo Peña is a Vice President of Development at Related Group, overseeing a variety of developments across the firm’s portfolio. Arturo has played an instrumental role in Related’s ongoing expansion across Central Florida, spearheading numerous award-winning market-rate apartment communities.

In his present role, Arturo oversees the development of market-rate communities, condominium towers, workforce housing, and mixed-use developments, primarily in the West Palm Beach and Tampa Bay regions. His current projects under construction are the waterfront Icon Marina Village in West Palm Beach and Manor West River in Tampa.

Over his 20 years at Related, Arturo’s marquee developments include the 400-unit Manor Riverwalk and 340-unit Icon Harbour Island in Tampa, the 382-unit Manor at Flagler Village in Fort Lauderdale, and the 162-unit SofA project in Delray Beach. Many more of Arturo’s projects have broken multi-family sales records in both Broward and Hillsborough Counties, receiving awards from the Urban Land Institute (ULI), National Association of Home Builders, Florida’s Best, and the South Florida Business Journal. Arturo has also been named Related’s “Employee of the Year” on multiple occasions.

Prior to joining Related, Arturo served as Project Manager for an architectural firm specializing in high-rise condominium towers throughout Florida; he also served as the firm’s liaison for over a dozen high-rise projects.

Arturo holds a B.A. in Architecture from the University of Miami, with Minors in Business and Building Structures; he continues to play an active role in several of the University’s alumni associations. Arturo also serves on Related’s Philanthropic Committee and is Vice Chair of the ULI Florida Multifamily Product Council.

Brian LeBlanc

Brian LeBlanc is the Southeastern region partner for Roers Companies, a MN-based multi-family development company. Over the past 18 months, he has sourced development projects in Florida, Nashville and North Carolina with a total development capitalization of $1.7 billion.

Brian previously spent 15 years in real estate private equity, development, and investment banking where he closed on investments in excess of $4.5 billion. From 2013-2021 he led a New York City-based, development-focused real estate family office with $500 million of assets under management across the NY Tri-State, Denver, Mid-Atlantic, and Florida markets. Prior to this, he spent seven years in real estate private equity at Westbrook Partners, AllianceBernstein Real Estate, and Morgan Stanley Real Estate. Brian holds a B.S. in Finance and International Business with a Real Estate Concentration from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.

Jon Paul (“JP”) brings nearly 20 years of experience to his role as Director of Architecture for Ryan A+E’s Southeast Region. Serving as the design and project director, he is responsible for managing a talented team of designers and helping to lead the project from its initial idea through execution.

While JP is well-versed across project types, he has devoted much of his professional career to healthcare. Creating a space that is comforting at some of our most vulnerable times in life, a place that welcomes children into the world, that houses systems and infrastructure to save lives and is operationally efficient has not only rewarding to him but has fostered and developed many of the skill sets that are applicable to every type of building project he works on. dedicated practices in risk management, health & benefits, life and disability and investment consulting. In his role, Barry serves as the Senior Advisor for select major clients to ensure clients receive the appropriate level of Marsh resources to meet their financial objectives.

Barry has 25+ years in the Commercial Insurance Industry. Prior to joining Marsh in June 2021, he spent 20 years with Aon in the Florida market sharing management responsibilities with the executive team throughout the State of Florida providing oversight of revenues in excess of $150 Million. Prior to Aon, Barry spent ten years with M&T Bank / M&T Insurance Services in Buffalo, NY responsible for new and renewal sales.
